As much as Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban would likely want to try and get the Cleveland Cavaliers to do a sign-and-trade with him for LeBron James (notes) , it doesn’t seem like a very likely scenario so Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Cuban is thining of attempting to work that same sort of deal with the Atlanta Hawks for Joe Johnson (notes) . Wojnarowski’s sources say that Johnson is "more likely to embrace a sign-and-trade to the contending Mavs" than go sign as a free agent with the Chicago Bulls or New York Knicks . New York Knicks brass will meet with the 28-year-old in Los Angeles as soon as the clock ticks past midnight Eastern on Thursday, but a source tells Wojnarowski, "New York is far from his first option." Lenny Wilkens retired from coaching back in 2005 after racking up 1,332 wins and taking home the 1979 title with the Seattle SuperSonics. That’ll happen when you’re in the league for 32 years and have a few smarts up your sleeve. Phoenix Suns assistant coach Dan Majerle recently was interviewed to the head-coaching gig for the Philadelphia 76ers that went to Doug Collins. He’s apparently go the head-coaching bug now because ESPN is reporting that Majerle is coveting the head-coaching job with the Chicago Bulls . The 44-year-old played for the Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers , and Miami Heat in a playing career that spanned from 1988-2001 and him going to the All-Star Game three times.
