Byron Scott to coach Cavaliers

Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Brian Shaw left his two-day interview with the Cleveland Cavaliers as the supposed frontrunner to be the new head coach of the Cavs, but then he took his name off the list yesterday and Byron Scott’s name came bobbing back to the top. ESPN reports that the team had decided on Scott on Tuesday night and started negotiating with him yesterday morning

Majerle wants to coach Bulls

Phoenix Suns assistant coach Dan Majerle recently was interviewed to the head-coaching gig for the Philadelphia 76ers that went to Doug Collins. He’s apparently go the head-coaching bug now because ESPN is reporting that Majerle is coveting the head-coaching job with the Chicago Bulls . The 44-year-old played for the Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers , and Miami Heat in a playing career that spanned from 1988-2001 and him going to the All-Star Game three times.

Hornets interview Fratello

Mike Fratello has coached in the NBA for about 15 seasons for the Atlanta Hawks , Cleveland Cavaliers , and Memphis Grizzlies . He hasn’t been on the sidelines sine 2006 with Memphis but it appears the New Orleans Hornets aren’t concerned enough about that time lapse to not interview the guy.

Hornets seek permission from Blazers and Jazz

The New Orleans Hornets aren’t alone in the search for a new head coach and the team has apparently identified four of the gentlemen it would like to take over for Jeff Bower who Hornets fans have got to hope does a better job in the front office than he did on the coaching sidelines.
